Q: Do you have financing options available?

Q: Can I become an EMT if I have a criminal record?

It depends on the nature of the conviction. The National Registry of EMTs (NREMT) may deny certification for certain criminal convictions, especially felonies or crimes involving violence, abuse, theft, or weapons. However, each case is reviewed individually, considering factors like the severity of the crime, time elapsed, and rehabilitation efforts. Some states may have additional restrictions. If you have a conviction, you should check with both NREMT and your state EMS authority to determine eligibility. For more information review the NREMT Criminal Conviction policy or reach out to your local EMS Authority. For EMTs in Clark County, NV, call the Southern Nevada Health District at 702-759-1050. For EMTs outside of Clark County, call the State of Nevada EMS Office at 775-687-7590.

Q: How physically demanding is this course?

This class is taught entirely in the classroom. There will be a combination of lectures and hands on skills. Students may be required to get on the ground to treat patients and participate in team lifts. Students are not required to perform any skill they are not physically capable of performing.

Q: I am an EMT, Paramedic, Nurse, Physician, etc. Will this class be boring?

We do not believe so. This course will serve as a review to your already established base knowledge and will build upon that. In addition, Wilderness First Aid will teach you how to think differently in an austere environment. We will also use your expertise during the class to lead those that do not have as much experience. This course has been approved for CME credit. Please ask your instructor for more information.
