Successfully passing the NREMT exam will lead to the attainment of Emergency Medical Technician certification.

Program Structure and Modules

Our Modular EMT Program is thoughtfully designed as an 18 module, 189 hour hybrid-style journey. This program consists of:

  • Online Self-Study (75 hours): Dive into our interactive online materials, which allow you to learn at your own pace and convenience. This format empowers you to absorb foundational knowledge before engaging in practical sessions.
  • Classroom Hours (90 hours): Join our experienced instructors in engaging classroom sessions, where you’ll deepen your understanding through discussions, case studies, and hands-on activities.
  • Clinical Rotations (24 hours): Gain invaluable real-world experience through 24 hours of clinical rotations. This hands-on component provides you with the opportunity to apply what you’ve learned in actual medical settings, enhancing your confidence and competence.

The hybrid-style program has you complete the online learning material for each module prior to you being eligible to come in for your in-person modular skills/review day. You must complete the in-person modules in numerical order, as they all build upon each other.

Flexibility to Complete

We understand that life’s commitments can be demanding. That’s why we offer you up to one year to complete the program from the time of registration. This flexible timeframe ensures that you have ample time to balance your studies with your daily responsibilities. The program can be completed in as little as 3 to 4 weeks, depending on your learning style, schedule, and ability to retain the information. Some ways that students elect to plan out their program includes:

  • Completing each module one at a time
    • Example: Completing Module 1 online material and then scheduling to come in and complete Module 1 in-person skills/review session)
  • Completing modules in blocks
    • Example: Completing Module 1-4 online material and then scheduling to come in and complete Modules 1-4 in-person skills/review sessions)

Can I become an EMT if I have a criminal conviction?2025-01-31T12:48:09-08:00

It depends on the nature of the conviction. The National Registry of EMTs (NREMT) may deny certification for certain criminal convictions, especially felonies or crimes involving violence, abuse, theft, or weapons. However, each case is reviewed individually, considering factors like the severity of the crime, time elapsed, and rehabilitation efforts. Some states may have additional restrictions. If you have a conviction, you should check with both NREMT and your state EMS authority to determine eligibility.

For more information review the NREMT Criminal Conviction policy or reach out to your local EMS Authority.  For EMTs in Clark County, NV, call the Southern Nevada Health District at 702-759-1050.  For EMTs outside of Clark County, call the State of Nevada EMS Office at 775-687-7590.
